1 day Austin

Today is the only day to go sightseeing in Austin.

Austin is capital of Texas, so there is a Texas Capitol in the center of the town.

It is similar to US Capitol in Washington DC...

Does every state capitol look like that??

But these buildings looks better than Japanese local Congress!

Let's come close~

Here, Texas is a cowboy's state, so staff is also cowboys.

Wow~~

Even state Capitol, it is very big!

When I entered, I found someone playing drums and dancing with special clothes.

It is one of native Americans dancing.

Each clothes is different from others, but all clothes are colorful and have a lot of bells in the arms or legs.

They made sound with bells by dancing and dancing.

Well, after that I saw chamber.

This is Senate Chamber.

This is House of Representative.

Similar to US Congress, the number of people in State Congress differs between upper and lower chamber.

Lower chamber has more people (150) than upper one (32).

This is different from Japanese Parliament.

In addition, local Congress is 2 chamber system, which is different from Japanese local Parliament (only 1).

After that, I went to Texas State Historical Museum.

During this travel, I got to like American history.

Especially, history in South is  eventful in the past a few centuries.

This museum is all about Texas; Native American, Spanish Colonize, Mexican colonize, Independence, cotton, livestock, oil, etc...

There are 3 floors, and I couldn't see thoroughly because I got hungry 1.5 hours later.

So I entered cafe located in this museum.

Even meat is delicious here in Texas, thing that I ordered is vegetable-burger.

I have a bad memory in New Orleans that after eating burger including beef, my feel became worth.

These days, I try not to eat meat-burger...

Near the museum, there is the University of Texas Austin.

This tower seems symbol of this university.

Maybe UT is bigger than my school, Nagoya University.

In bus stop, there is UT mark.

In the evening, I went to downtown.

This is 6th street.

I heard this is the most lively area in Austin, but it was a little disappointing.

That's because I didn't go there in the night!!

I don't have time at that time.

My bus departs at 7:00pm.

Now I am Dallas suburb.

I was supposed to take a train from Dallas to here, but when I arrived at Dallas, it was almost 11:30.

There was no train!!

Oh my god!

I had to take bus all way from downtown.

I didn't want to take taxi....

It took over 1.5 hours!?!?!?

The time I got at hostel was 1:00am.

I am very sleepy now.

So see you tomorrow~~ .
